From Confusion to Calling: A Journey to Set the Captives Free

Some people are born knowing exactly what they want to do—whether it’s teaching, medicine, business, or science. Lori was not one of them. She began with a dream of becoming a prestigious doctor and earned her degree in biochemistry. Her work ethic and pursuit of excellence stood out—so much so that a college professor encouraged her to pursue a master’s degree in engineering, promising a likely position afterward. Still determined to become a doctor, Lori enrolled in a nursing program to support herself through medical school.

But as she volunteered in a hospital to gain experience, Lori encountered something unexpected: not just

medicine—but medical politics. She observed a rigid hierarchy—technicians at the bottom, followed by nurses, practitioners, and finally doctors. The snobbery and pressure to fit in were undeniable. She quickly realized that this was not an environment where she could thrive.

Disclaimer: If you are called into medicine, you will still feel fulfilled despite the social challenges. But Lori knew it wasn’t her calling.

Next, she accepted an internship as a high school science teacher. She was offered the position—and entered the world of education. Though she excelled as a teacher and later as an assistant principal, the politics there were even more intense. Recognition came. Promotions followed. But something was missing.

Despite her success, Lori often asked herself:
“Did I miss God’s plan?”

Driven to explore other possibilities, she earned her real estate license, became a certified notary, and graduated #1 in her class at Joseph Business School. Her mind was sharp for business, her discipline unmatched, and her heart still searching for purpose.

Then, everything began to make sense.

She and her mother (Joyce) started a blog—not just to share inspiration, but to disciple believers. The vision grew: to help Christians prosper in every area of life—financially, spiritually, academically, socially, and physically.

They began writing daily devotionals, grounding each message in biblical principles, and adding their own experiences. Their passion became clear:
To develop the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.

They taught about:

  • How to walk in divine health

  • The importance of key supplements

  • The power of healing prayer

  • Effective business strategies

  • And most of all, who we are in Christ

Then one day, during a conversation, the purpose clicked:
“We want to set people free.”

At that moment, they realized Lori’s journey—from medicine to education to business—wasn’t wasted. It was preparation. Every twist and turn, every disappointment and pivot, was designed to build the wisdom needed to lead others to victory.

Now, through their platform ImperfectLee Perfect, Lori and Joyce are helping believers become:

  • Whole

  • Empowered

  • Prosperous

  • And free from the lies of the enemy

They are no longer victims. They are victors, destroying the works of the devil and teaching others to do the same.

“You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32 (NKJV)

Their passion is no longer hidden. It has a name, a mission, and a kingdom purpose.

Declaration: Called, Equipped, and Commissioned

  • I declare that my journey has purpose, and every season was preparation.

  • I am not confused—I am called.

  • I am not delayed—I am developed.

  • I walk boldly in the identity Christ gave me: whole, wise, and anointed.

  • What the enemy meant for confusion, God has turned into clarity.

  • I am a vessel of truth, prosperity, and freedom.

  • I do not fear detours—they are divine setups.

  • I walk in the power of the Holy Spirit to disciple, to prosper, and to set the captives free.

  • I was created for this. I am ready for this.

  • I will fulfill my assignment—victoriously.

Prayer: For Bold Purpose and Kingdom Impact

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for turning my winding path into a purposeful journey.  Thank You for using every season—whether in medicine, education, or business—to train me for Your kingdom.  I surrender my past confusion and embrace the clarity You have revealed.  Strengthen me to walk with boldness, not just for my sake, but for those You’ve called me to reach.  Let my words, my work, and my witness lead others to freedom.  May everything I do reflect Your goodness, Your wisdom, and Your unstoppable love.  I declare that I am not behind—I am right on time for what You’ve prepared.  Empower me to help others break free and walk fully in who they are in Christ. Use me as your vessel where You say to me, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.” Matthew 25:21 NKJV

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
