We Will Not Be Judged by Our Sins, but by Our Works

Through the blood of Jesus, every sin, past, present, and future, has been forgiven. The penalty for our sin was paid in full at the cross. 1 Peter 1:17 (NKJV) “And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear.” Hebrews 10:14 (NIV) “For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.” That means when believers stand before God, we are not judged for our sins, but for what we did with the life God gave us. There is a “Judgment Seat of Christ” where every believer will be rewarded based on their works, not for salvation, but for eternal reward.
2 Corinthians 5:10 (ESV) “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.” Picture standing in line before Almighty God, not for punishment, but for an evaluation of how you spent your time, energy, resources, and influence. Did we invest in eternal things? Did we love others well? Did we waste time on distractions or produce fruit that glorifies our Father?
Ephesians 2:10 (NLT) “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
Good works aren’t just charitable acts. They include:
Advancing the Gospel of Jesus Christ
Giving generously to the church and those in need
Being a faithful and diligent employee or student
Displaying the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22–23)
Putting God first in every area of life
Jesus made it clear that how we live matters. It is not for earning salvation, but for expressing our faith through obedience.
Matthew 16:27 (NKJV) “For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.” Let’s allow God to work His plans through us daily by volunteering every morning to be available to do good whenever there is a chance to do so.
