Walking in Authority Over Evil

Encouragement from God's Word

As Christians, we often forget just how powerful we are because of the blood of Jesus. The truth is, God has given us authority over all the power of the enemy. Satan wants to deceive us into thinking we’re powerless, but Jesus has already won the victory, and He has handed us the keys to enforce that victory.

In Luke 10:19 (NIV), Jesus says, “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” This is not a suggestion; it’s a promise! The same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives inside of

you (Romans 8:11 KJV), and when you exercise your authority in His name, all of hell must bow.

God delights when His children rise up and walk in their God-given authority. He’s happy when we bind evil and refuse to let Satan have the final say. Matthew 16:19 (ESV) says, “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” We are not helpless—we are victorious warriors in Christ.

Why It Matters

God has called us to be overcomers (Revelation 12:11 KJV). The blood of Jesus and the word of our testimony are powerful weapons against the enemy. But victory requires action. It’s not enough to know you have authority; you must exercise it by:

  • Speaking God’s Word boldly.

  • Binding and rebuking evil in Jesus’ name.

  • Refusing to believe the lies of the enemy.

When you step into your authority, you align with God’s heart and bring His Kingdom to earth. This pleases God because it demonstrates your faith in His power and His promises.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for giving me authority through the blood of Jesus to overcome every work of the enemy. I praise You for the victory Jesus has already won, and I choose to stand firm in that victory today. Teach me how to exercise the authority You’ve given me with boldness and confidence, knowing that You are with me every step of the way.

Help me to recognize the enemy’s lies and resist him with the truth of Your Word. I bind every scheme of the enemy that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, and I loose Your peace, joy, and blessings over my life and the lives of those around me. Thank You, Lord, for calling me to be more than a conqueror. I give You all the glory and honor, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

Walk boldly in your identity, use your God-given authority, and remember that God delights in seeing you win. You are victorious through the blood of Jesus! Keep declaring it, keep standing firm, and watch the enemy flee.
