This “Faith” Stuff Works
Last week, we discussed the importance of being mindful of our words. When we believe in overcoming obstacles and pursuing big dreams, we should apply scripture to the challenges we face. One key point I emphasized was that when the devil tries to attack and negative thoughts enter your mind, you must resist him and speak God's Word into the situation. As pressure increases, it may tempt you to feel discouraged and give up. However, remain steadfast and strong, as you are closer to your victory than you may realize. See the list of scriptures below—write down the ones that resonate with you and your situation. Also, study the Bible and find additional scriptures that you can stand on because there are so many promises.
As I was writing last week's devotional, I also shared some of the battles the devil has been throwing at my family and me. It means we are on track, and we are no longer putting up with his lies. My mom was in her daily prayer time, talking to her Daddy God and asking Him to do something encouraging for her that day. My mom knows her relationship with God, and she knows He always responds. Right after she told me that, I received a random email from my HOA stating that I won a drawing and didn't have to pay my HOA fees in August. That was a significant blessing as I am taking a leap of faith to start a business, and being diligent has led to such blessings. God is good and faithful.
(My emphasis) Remember the story in the Bible about the woman whose husband was a faithful servant of the prophet Elisha and died. The creditors were about to take her boys and turn them into slaves because of the debt they owed. She went to Elisha, seeking guidance and calling on his anointing, not whining but expecting a breakthrough. The prophet asked her what she had in her house, and she said nothing but a little oil. He instructed her to gather as many containers as possible, come back, and lock the door. When she returned, the oil kept pouring until the very last container was full. The prophet instructed her to sell the oil, pay off her debt, and keep the remaining money. This not only cleared her debt but also provided enough for her and her children to live on. She became debt-free and had enough wealth to leave an inheritance for her children OVERNIGHT! (2 Kings 4:1-7 NKJV).Why did this happen? She wouldn’t stop until she got her breakthrough and received much more than she expected.
Consider the woman with the issue of blood who, despite spending all her money and struggling because Jewish law labeled her as “unclean,” she pressed on in faith, determined to touch Jesus’s clothes, and was healed and made whole. Or think of the father of the little girl who was sick and died; Jesus said she was not dead but asleep, and she woke up (Matthew 9:18–26, Mark 5:21–43, and Luke 8:40–56). Jesus understood the power of words and sent everyone out, except a few he could trust, because any unbelief in that room could hinder the miracle. In both scenarios, the woman and the father, through faith in Jesus’s anointing, expected their breakthrough. You have the same Holy Spirit and anointing that led those prophets to victory. According to John 14:12 NLT, “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.” You don’t need to go to someone else for it; just go to God, speak His Word, and expect Him to fulfill His promises because He cannot go back on His Word.

The scripture says in Matthew 18:19-20 (ESV): "Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them." Let’s get that breakthrough because we are victorious through Jesus Christ
